Amitabh Bachchan and his actor-son Abhishek Bachchan have landed in trouble yet again and this time for wrapping the national flag of India around them.
A case filed in Ghaziabad court held the duo responsible for insulting the national flag of India when they wrapped it around themselves in an insulting manner.
The Bachchans had wrapped the Indian flag around each other on the occasion of the India-Pakistan world cup encounter at Adelaide this year which was held on February 15th. The lawyer of the complainant said that the actors have insulted country’s reputation by this act and also has witnesses for it.
The complainant had also stated that Amitabh Bachchan and his son had disrespected the Indian flag deliberately. He said the actors’ act was covered under The Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, and the Flag Code of India, 2002, and both should be summoned before the court to face trial.
Earlier, Amitabh had courted controversy and also landed in legal trouble when an FIR was registered against him for endorsing Maggi noodles.
The food product had been found unfit for consumption as it posed health risks and was shelved. Preity Zinta and Madhuri Dixit, along with Bachchan, were also included in the FIR, for promoting an unhealthy brand.
