Rohit has signed Shah Rukh for his next film Dilwale and to give them company on the sets of the upcoming film will be none other than Kajol.
Rohit has finally been able to pull off the casting coup of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The two were last seen together on-screen in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan
Confirming the news, Rohit told, “The film has Shah Rukh Khan with Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Vinod Khanna, Kabir Bedi, Johny Lever and Varun (Choocha) Sharma. It is being made by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Rohit Shetty Productions. It is not a remake of any film and will release this Christmas.”
Shah Rukh and Kajol have mostly been cast together in romantic films but Rohit refuses to divulge details about the film’s genre. He says, “It’s a wholesome entertainer and I would not categorise it as an action or a comedy film. It’s a family film that has everything in it. I also have the big responsibility of bringing Kajol back after a long time, and pairing her with Shah Rukh. All I can do is work really hard.”
Apart from these two, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon have also been signed for Dilwale. “Varun is a fabulous actor, and he has already proved his versatility in the films he has done so far. As for Kriti, I have seen Heropanti (2014), and she is quite confident as an actor. Plus, it’s a fresh pair, so I’m looking forward to working with them,” adds Rohit.
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have been one of the most popular romantic on-screen couples. From Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge to My Name Is Khan, the two have always cast their spell and we hope that the magic continues in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale as well.
