Chris Hemsworth may be best known for looking like a Norse god, but to play a 19th-century sailor stranded at sea, the In the Heart of the Sea star had to slim down considerably. He even shared a photo of just how radical his transformation was.

In the Heart of the Sea is an upcoming 2015 epic historical adventure thriller drama film based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s 2000 non-fiction book of the same name, about the sinking of the American whaling ship Essex in 1820, that inspired the tale of Moby-Dick.
The film was originally scheduled to be released on March 13, but was later moved to December 11…
