We have heard the world say this and that about the Deepika Padukone-starrer short film My Choice, but finally we have the film director Homi Adajania saying that misinterpretation is what made the clip “explosively viral” online.
The two-and-a-half minute clip, which is part of Vogue’s women empowerment campaign, features Deepika and 98 other women talking about the freedom of choice that women must have regarding multiple issues, including having the choice to indulge in sex before marriage or out of marriage or not having sex at all.
Homi took to social networking website Facebook on April 10 to address the reactions on the video:
Homi is willing to “take the hit” again if that is what will get people to talk about gender equality.
