Mukesh Ambani loves to be on the top. And he likes to maintain this position.
But this time, it’s not about being the richest man of some place, Mukesh Ambani has got his 7-series BMW registered with the Motor Vehicles Department in Mumbai for Rs 1.6 crore.
This is 20 per cent cost of the vehicle as per rules. In any case, Rs 1.6 crore is a big sum, reason being the modifications in the interiors and exteriors of the vehicle.
Mukesh Ambani’s BMW is completely bullet proof that too with armour protection on the chassis and the windows for obvious reason of his security concerns.
Ambani’s car is the regular BMW 760i costing Rs 1.9 crore on-road. But as per his Z security requirement, it was armoured by BMW Germany, increasing its cost further for Rs 8.5 crore as the import cost is 300% of an armoured vehicle. And, this caused a further increase in the registration cost.
Since 2013, he has been provided Z security by the government as he was receiving threats by mails. He also reimburses the cost of armed commandos to the government.
