I am all filled with nostalgia.
The Big Friendly Giant has brought all my childhood memories back. This animated movie always scared the crap out of me.
Many of you must have read this book written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake. It is an expansion of a short story from Dahl’s 1975 book Danny, the Champion of the World.
The book is dedicated to Dahl’s late daughter, Olivia, who died of measles encephalitis at the age of seven in 1962.
And now, when I saw this first trailer of The Big Friendly Giant, I got incredibly excited than thou. One of the less well-known films is a Disney version of Roald Dahl’s The BFG, and the trailer has just arrived:
The film will star newcomer Ruby Barnhill as Sophie, the girl who discovered the giant’s existence after meeting the BFG.
The titular big friendly giant will be played by Mark Rylance.
Perhaps the biggest name to be attached to the movie is that of the director – Steven Spielberg. This will be his first time directing a Disney movie and it looks seriously exciting.
The film will arrive in cinemas next summer on July 1. But in the meantime, we are going to be bouncing up and down with excitement!
