There is good news for all the fans of Sanjay Dutt. The man will walk free from jail on 27th February. Well if you are wondering isn’t that a little early, that’s because his pending seven months have been pardoned, on account of good behaviour in the jail.

The case that was…
Sanjay Dutt was found guilty of having illegal weapons in his possession. After a long drawn battle, he was convicted in 2007. There were several appeals after that.
What was found?
The police found a pistol, a rifle and an AK-56 in his home. This is the time of the 1993 Mumbai blasts. He pleaded that he was keeping these weapons to protect his family. But the police suspected him of aiding the terrorists.
Conviction in 2007
After 2007, he pleaded innocence in the Supreme Court, but his conviction stood. Since May 2013, he has been in the jail in Pune.

He might be officially in jail, but he has actually spent 118 days out of it. Many VIPs have been criticized for giving him this privilege.

Even people like Markandey Katju pealed for his pardon, but all requests were turned down.
