Shimla, July 7: The BJP’s youth wing comprising activists of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha on Thursday began a hunger striker outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office here today in protest against the deteriorating health services in the Regional Hospital here.
The youth activists, including Bharat Sahni, Manoj Raghuvanshi and others, said it was lamentable that despite raising voice against the deteriorating health services at the Regional Hospital for the last four years, little improvement has been brought about.The activists will give a memorandum of the Governor tomorrow through the DC to press for their nine major demands which include an inquiry into cases of death due to negligence.
Their other demands include immediate availability of ambulance to patients who are referred, availability of parking space for those visiting the hospitals, availability of adequate sitting arrangement for women and elderly patients, filling of vacancies of key specialists and appointment of another radiologist.
