Suresh Kumar is the Pachhad MLA. He is associated with Bharatiya Janata Party. He is son of Shri Chambel Singh Kashyap. He was born on 23rd March 1971 at Paplahan, Distt. Sirmour. He is M.Phil (Public Administration), Post Graduate (English & Tourism), PG. Diploma in Public Relation & Communication Management and B.Ed. He is married to Smt. Rajni Kashyap. He joined Indian Air Force on 22nd April 1988 and retired after 16 and half years of service.

Pachhad is a tehsil in Sirmaur district of the state. Pachhad tehsil headquarters is Pachhad town. It is located 21 km from district headquarters Nahan, 51 km from state capital Shimla. Pachhad consists of 269 villages and 31 panchayats. It is on 1552 m elevation. This place is in the border of the Sirmaur district and Panchkula districts.
