Shimla, July 14: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said strict action would be taken against the party cadre involved in anti-party activities. Addressing a public meeting in Shaat village in Manikaran today, he said indiscipline within the party would not be tolerated and the people who tried to damage the image of the party would be ousted from the party.
He evaded question on recent political speculations after meeting of Transport Minister GS Bali with former Minister Vijai Singh Mankotia and said both had the same mindset. He said Maheshwar Singh had lost his credibility by changing political parties and nobody believed in the allegations levelled by him.Lashing out at the Opposition for halting development projects sanctioned for the state, the Chief Minister said it seemed that the Union Health Minister was thinking of initiating work on the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bilaspur only when the BJP came to power which was a distant dream.He added that the state government had given adequate land as desired by the Centre. Now the delay was on part of the Union Health Ministry for the reasons well-known to the Union Health Minister.
He said the state government had done so much in every field, including health, education, social welfare and other sectors that the BJP leaders were not able to digest it and were criticizing government just for the sake of criticism. They have no other agenda and were involved in mudslinging on their political opponents.He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various schemes and roads during the first day of this two-day tour to Kullu. He also inaugurated the vegetable market sub-yard at Shaat.
He laid the foundation stone of hot sulphur bath the work on which would be initiated by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation.He inaugurated the up-gradation of Chharor Nullah to Kashawari road which will be carpeted at a cost of Rs 4.93 crore.Former minister Satya Prakash Thakur thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating projects worth Rs 36 crore. He said the vegetable market sub-yard would benefit the people of nearby panchayats and facilitate the sale of their fruit and vegetables.Thakur Singh Bharmouri, Forest Minister; Amit Bharmouri, Secretary, HPCC; Sunder Singh Thakur, general secretary, HPCC and other Congress leaders were present on the occasion.
