Medical college to be built at Sarol, says CM Virbhadra Singh

Shimla, July 7: The MBBS classes in Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College (PJNGMC) will begin from this session and the land for the medical college has been identified at Sarol. This was announced by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, while addressing a mammoth public meeting at Killar in Pangi sub-division, on Thursday. He also announced a hostel at Government Senior Secondary Schools (GSSS) at Dharwas and Purthi and a hostel for girls in GSSS, Saach. He also assured people to look into the demand of a solar plant in the valley and said the construction of micro hydel projects Maahlu Nullah Phase II and one at Dharwas would only be considered on the basis of viability and after conducting a survey. He said Pangi had witnessed revolution in terms of development.

There was a time when the area had no access to roads but after the Resident Commissioner was posted at Killar in Pangi in 1986, there was no look back and the valley witnessed development. As much as Rs 29 crore was spent on roads and bridges and buildings in the valley in the last four-and-a-half years. He alarmed people not to fall prey to nefarious designs of the BJP in the Assembly elections. He blamed the BJP for ignoring the area in terms of development and said it was the habit of the BJP to take credit of works done by the Congress.

Chief Minister appealed to the people to support the sitting MLA from the area. He said the younger generation would be given an opportunity next time and in the Assembly elections, Thakur Singh Bharmouri would represent the people of Pangi-Bharmour from the party and the people must ensure his win. He said a notification had been issued for starting science classes in government college, Pangi, at Killar and said the vacancies in science streams would be filled on priority.Earlier, Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of a police station building at Killar and inaugurated the Civil Hospital building at Killar.
