Shimla, July 26: The High Court sought a report from the state on the issue of alleged rape and murder of a minor girl in Kullu. Passing this direction, the court listed the matter for further hearing on July 28. A Division Bench comprising acting Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Ajay Mohan Goel passed this order on a petition taken up suo motu as public interest litigation petition on a news item published in a daily newspaper mentioning that the police had not arrested any person till date in this incident.

It was further reported in the news item that the body of the victim was recovered near the Bear in Parla Bhuntar on April 30. A case of rape and murder was registered under various sections of the IPC and Section 4 of POCSO Act. It was further alleged in the news item that the police had not taken any concrete steps to solve this case.
