Govind Ram Sharma is the Arki MLA. He owes his allegiance to Bharatiya Janata Party. He is Son of late Sh. Raghu Ram Sharma. He was born on 15 May, 1955, at Dochi (Arki) in Solan district. He is a matriculate from HPB of School Board Dharamsala in 1980. He is married to Smt. Satya Sharma. He has two sons and two daughters.

Arki is a town, a tehsil and a Nagar panchayat in Solan district. The town is notable for its fort built in late 18th century when Arki was the capital of the erstwhile hill state of Baghal. Arki is located in the Shivalik range of Himalayas. Due to its high altitude, Arki enjoys a pleasant weather but winters get chilly. Arki is known for its caves and cave temples among which Lutru Mahadev and Mutru Mahadev are very famous.
Political Standing
Govind Ram Sharma was elected to the State Legislative Assembly on Bharatiya Janata Party’s ticket in 2007 and re-elected in 2012. He remained Member, Public Undertakings and Subordinate Legislation Committees during 2008-2012. He won by a margin of 2075 votes from Sanjay of Indian National Congress.
