Sudhir Sharma is the Dharamsala MLA. He is associated with Indian National Congress. He is the son of late Pt. Sant Ram (Ex. Minister Himachal Govt.). He is born at Paprola, Distt. Kangra on 2nd August 1972 and is a graduate from D.A.V. College Chandigarh. He is married to Smt. Reena Sharma.
Constituency Represented
Dharamsala (also Dharamshala) is a municipal corporation in Kangra district. It is the district headquarters. It was formerly known as Bhagsu. The Dalai Lama‘s residence and the headquarters of Central Tibetan Administration (the Tibetan government in-exile) are in Dharamsala. It is 18 kilometres from Kangra. Dharamshala has been selected as one of the hundred Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under PM Narendra Modi’s flagship Smart Cities Mission.
Political Standing
Sudhir Sharma is the Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Town & Country Planning in the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Sudhir Sharma was first elected to the State Assembly in 2003 from Baijnath constituency. He won again from Baijnath in 2007. In 2012, he won from Dharmshala for the third time. He won by a margin of 5000 votes. Kishan Kapoor of Bharatiya Janata Party was the trailing candidate.
