We are sorry to report that we humans have shot down so many birds for meat that they are soon going to go extinct. Great Indian Bustard
It is only found in India and the regions surrounding it. It can weight upto 15kgs and can grow upto 1m long. It is found in the grasslands and the desert regions. It is the state bird of Rajasthan.
Red Headed Vulture
It is also called the Indian Black Vulture and is one of the oldest species of vultures in the India. The species is suffering from the presence of diclofenac in pesticides.
Forest Owlet
The typical owls are found in the Central India. They have vanished from most places in India and have now been confined to the Melghat Tiger Reserve, Taloda Forest Range and forest area of Madhya Pradesh.
Spoon Billed Sandpiper
This species of birds is actually been categorized in the critically endangered category. The bird has no ground for breeding and is all set to go extinct, unless something is not done soon.
Jerdon’s Courser
This bird is a native of Andhra Pradesh and will soon go extinct as it is has no habitat left to survive in. It used to live in the basin of the Godavari River, but is now rarely seen.
Bengal Florican
This bird is part of the bustard family and is found in the Indian subcontinent only. It has gone extinct from all other places in the world. There are less than 1000 left in the world and has become a rare bird.
