The most important principles of Bahai religion are abolition of all kinds of discrimination, unity of all faiths, compulsory education for all and harmony between religions and science.
The religion was founded almost two centuries ago by the Prophet Baha’ullah of Persia. His followers have constructed temples all over the world, where people from any religion can go to pray. Each of these religious structures has a unique architecture never seen before. But commonly, all of them have a central doom and nine entrances, which can be interpreted, as people from any direction can come to pray here.
We have for you today four major temples of the Bahai religion.
1. Illinois, North America
The temple will take your breath away. The construction started in 1912 and went on till 1953. It is one of the oldest Bahai temples in the world. The dome actually rises to 135 feet.
2. New South Wales, Australia
The temple is close to Sydney and is simply stunning. It came into existence in 1961 and since then it is on the must visit list of every traveler. There are gardens spread in over 9 hectares and the domes goes as high as 38 meters.
3. Kampala, Uganda
The first thing that you will notice in this temple is its massive green dome. The glass windows, the stunning interiors all make the perfect setting for somebody who wants to pray in peace. It has been around since 1962.
4. Frankfurt, Germany
The temple is located at the foot of the famous Taunus mountain range. The dome actually had five hundred and forty diamond shaped windows that make it look like a diamond from far.
