1. Dachigam Wildlife Sanctuary
Location: Jammu and Kashmir
The sanctuary dates back to 1910 and is one of the few places in the world where you might be lucky enough to spot the snow leopard.
2. Jim Corbett National Park
Location: Uttarakhand
The park came into existence in 1936 and is oneof the most popular parks in India. It is after all home to the famous Bengal tiger.
3. Sunderbans Wildlife Sanctuary
Location: West Bengal
The delta of Ganges where this reserve is located, was officially declared a national park in 1984. The biosphere is very unique and extremely rich. Again home to the Bengal tiger and many rare birds.
4. Manas Wildlife Sanctuary
Location: Assam
The reserve is home to the Asian elephants, Golden cat and the clouded leopard. The conservation efforts turned it into a reserve in 1985.
5. Kaziranga National Park
Location: Assam
The only place in the entire world where you might see the one-horned Rhinoceros. One of the most prized reserves of the nation.
