The demise of veteran actor, producer and Gurdaspur MP Vinod Khanna has left the entire nation in shock. Known as one of the most handsome lead actor in Bollywood industry, Vinod Khanna started his career in small time roles, mostly negative. With time, he went on to bag meaty roles in prominent films like Mere Apne, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Gaddaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Qurbani and more lately Dilwale.

Vinod Khanna was 70 and he lost the battle to bladder cancer. In his long Bollywood career, he worked in more than 100 films and was an active politician and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur.
Vinod Khanna received the Filmfare award in the best supporting actor category for Haath Ki Safaai, and in 1999 he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, and again in 2007 he won a lifetime achievement award at the Zee Cine Awards.
By the last of 2016, the country received news of his deteriorating health and he was kept away from public interaction. He was surrounded by all his children and wife Kavita when he breathed his last.
