“Key to happiness in life is having a daughter.” Daughters give happiness and prosperity to everyone around them. They are more capable and sensitive to take care of their families.
Our society discriminates against daughters, but whatever the son can do, the daughter can do that better. So to celebrate, honour, acknowledge the contribution girls make to the society, Coke Studio@MTV Season 4 – is coming up with a beautiful dedication ‘I Wanna Fly’ sung by Babul Supriyo with her daughter Sharmilee Feat. Anupam Roy. The song has been written by Javed Akhtar.
October 11 is celebrated as the International Day of the Girl Child and the song will be dedicated to that. And the big news is that our Big B Amitabh Bachchan is promoting this event of empowering the girl child.
We look forward to hearing this father-daughter duo sing together. So don’t forget to tune in to this episode on Sunday, 4th October at 8 PM only on MTV!

For those who do not know, International Day of the Girl Child is an international observance day declared by the United Nations. It is also called the Day of the Girl and the International Day of the Girl.
October 11, 2012, was the first Day of the Girl. The observation supports more opportunity for girls and increases awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide based upon their gender. This inequality includes areas such as right to education/access to education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care, and protection from discrimination, violence against women and unfree child marriage.
Each year’s Day of the Girl has a theme – the first was “ending child marriage”, the second in 2013 was “innovating for girl’s education”, and the third, in 2014, was “Empowering Adolescent Girls: Ending the Cycle of Violence.”
This year’s theme is “The Power of the Adolescent Girl: Vision for 2030”.
