Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan underwent a knee surgery and has been advised four days of bed rest.
The surgery was performed at Breach Candy hospital on Thursday.
The actor is expected to get discharged soon and has been asked to rest for four days before commencing his shooting schedule.
Arthroscopy and joint replacement surgeon Dr. Sanjay Desai conducted the surgery at the city-based hospital. Previously, Khan was seeking mental health treatment for chronic pain as his previous knee injury was so painful. The treatment seemed to be working for the first few months but after several months, the pain had become unbearable. So, Khan decided to have Dr. Sanjay Desai operate on it and ease the pain s that he could carry on living the life he loved, shooting movies.
“Mr. Khan has been suffering from repeated pain and swelling of the left knee over the last several months. Today’s surgery confirms the chondral wear of the Patella, which is due to repeated injuries over the last few years. Based on today’s arthroscopic evaluation future management will be planned. He has recovered well and is likely to be discharged tomorrow,” he said in a statement.
Shah Rukh, who was busy shooting for “Raees” until before the surgery, will be on a break following his discharge from the hospital to recover. He will resume work soon. He is eager to get back to work already but is following doctor’s advice so that more damage is not done to the knee as it’s currently very fragile.
