Salman’s dad Salim Khan is a veteran Indian actor and screenwriter. In Hindi cinema, Salim Khan is best known for being one half of the prolific screenwriting duo of Salim-Javed.

He is the man behind evergreen hits like Sholay, Seeta aur Geeta, Andaaz and many more.

Salim Khan married Sushila Charak in 1964. Sushila later converted into Islam and was named Salma Khan. Salim and Salma had four children Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira Khan. Salim Khan later married veteran actress Helen in 1972. They also adopted Salman’s little sister Arpita Khan, who married Aayush Sharma in 2014.
