Ready-To-Pop Kate Middleton Spotted Driving Through Buckingham Palace

Kate Middleton is out and about during the Great Kate Wait!

Amid speculation that the Duchess of Cambridge, who is currently pregnant with her second child, is overdue, the 33-year-old royal was photographed on Tuesday driving her black Range Rover.

Prince William’s wife was snapped entering the gates of Buckingham Palace where it is believed that the expectant beauty stopped by for a dip in the pool with one-year-old son Prince George. She was accompanied by a number of security guards, as well as George’s nanny, Maria Borrallo, and was seen wearing casual clothes with her hair down.

In spite of being 9 months pregnant, Middleton seemed to be in good spirits behind the wheel, appearing at ease upon entering the Queen’s official residence.

The sighting of Middleton comes amid reports that the duchess is five days overdue with the U.K.’s Telegraph most recently reporting that the soon-to-be mother of two will likely be induced this week.

“Doctors don’t normally wait for more than a week,” a source told The Telegraph Sunday. “They will probably already have been in touch with Kate and talked about which day would suit her best to go in and be induced if the baby doesn’t arrive in the next couple of days.”

Earlier today, William and Kate also made headlines when they sent fans camped outside St. Mary’s Hospital pastries and hot drinks for breakfast. “We’re really touched—we thank them with all our hearts,” said one admirer, who has been eagerly waiting for Kate to go into labor.

Once Middleton enters the hospital, the Kensington Palace press office will release an announcement via email and will update its Twitter and Instagram accounts. Additionally, just like the birth of Prince George, a footman at Buckingham Palace will place a birth notice on an easel in the forecourt; the notice will include the baby’s gender, weight and time of birth.

Prince Harry will miss the birth of his niece or nephew, as he is currently Down Under on assignment with the Australian Defense Force and is not expected back in the U.K. until May.

Prince William, meanwhile, went on early paternity leave to be by his wife’s side.

Baby No. 2 will be born in the Lindo Wing, where Prince George was born in 2013.

Can’t wait to meet the little one!
