India is diversified in many ways. One such platform is on the basis of language. If you travel like just 5 hours in India to any direction, you’ll get to hear a different language all together. But the most crazy and interesting ones that stand out is of course the South Indian languages. And to be more precise focus goes on Malayalam. We use it for fun, like certain words stays back in our minds as there are numerous South Indian movies we often watch. We thought of sharing some more quirky words to make this language more fun loving and believe me dear South Indians you can add more to the list, but don’t be offended because this piece comes from a hardcore Malayali.
Poda/Podi
The term stands for Go Away. When someone is bugging you, you can use this word. Please do mind the gender. The word can be extended with the word Patti which means Dog. Ni Poda Patti!
Machaan!
The one word definition for Dude. It’s a sought of nickname given to boys who are stylish, cool, having great attitude. Basically a word that can define most of the Punjabi gabrus.
Pottan
A fool! A perfect term for all North Indians who think that every South Indian is a Madrasi.
Ayyo
That’s when you react to express surprise or something sad. Basically, Oh Shit!
Oh Pinne….
Girls this one is for you. Often you have to tease your friend who cooks up fake stories. As If, is the story behind Oh Pinne.
Enikyu Vayya
Bit tough to pronounce? When you can’t tolerate or is feeling sick by someones saying. That’s when you say Enikyu Vayya.
Kidullan
That’s freaking Kidullan. That’s how you describe awesomeness in Malayalam.
Po Mone Dinesha – Go Away, Dinesh!
Even if somebody’s name is not Dinesh. This dialouge can be used. Line made famous by the legend of Malayalam industry Mohan Lal. That’s how you show the perfect attitude.

The jaw dropping moment, when you have to praise something that’s out of the world. Literally when you just want to describe the thing in one word. AWESOME!
Ende Ammo
Literal meaning of Ende Ammo is My Mother. But whenever you are tired of working for long duration or want to convey the Awww moment. This word sets your situation.
Paedichu Thoori
So scared that you start shitting. Sounds crazy right? This is how you define a person who fears a lot. Perfect term for your friend who runs away from horror movies or fears being in the dark.
