Maheshwar Singh is MLA from Kullu. He is associated with Himachal Lokhit Party. He is son of Late Shri Mohinder Singh. He was born on 2nd February 1949 at Bangalore, Karnataka. He is B.Sc. (2nd year) at St. Luke’s High School Solan and DAV College, Chandigarh. He is married to Smt. Meera Singh. He has two sons.

Kullu or Kulu is the capital town of the Kullu District in Himachal Pradesh. It is located on the banks of the Beas River in the Kullu Valley about ten kilometres north of the airport at Bhuntar. Kullu is a broad open valley formed by the Beas river between Manali and Largi. This valley is famous for its temples, beauty and its majestic hills covered with pine and deodar forest and sprawling apple orchards. The course of the Beas river presents a succession of magnificent, clad with forests of deodar, towering above trees of pine on the lower rocky ridges. Kullu valley is sandwiched between the Pir Panjal, Lower Himalayan and Great Himalayan range. The Kullu Valley is the largest valley in the Kullu district. The Beas River runs through the middle of the valley.
Political Standing
Maheshwar Singh is elected to ninth Lok Sabha in 1989 and re-elected to twelfth Lok Sabha in 1998 and to thirteenth Lok Sabha in 1999. He was member Committees on Estimates, Science and Technology, Environment and Forests, in 1998-99, Estimates Committees and Committee on Government Assurances, Urban & Rural Development 1999-2000, Estimates Committee 2000-2001 and Consultative Committee, Ministry of Tourism and Department of Culture, 2000-2004. Resigned from BJP and formed new political outfit viz; Himachal Lokhit Party on 2nd February 2012. Presently, he is president State unit of HLP. Elected to the State Assembly for the 3rd time in December 2012. He won by a margin of 2985 votes. Ram Singh of BJP was the trailing candidate.
