It was a surprise to see that Kim Kardashian was left off the front cover for its special edition Met Gala issue.
Rihanna was chosen to be the cover girl in her exotic gold Orient-inspired gown, which took one woman two years to make. The gown, which inspired hundreds of memes all over the internet after the fashion event of the year last week, earned RiRi the coveted covered spot.
She features on it proudly, while the names of other guests are listed on the side – like Beyonce, Jennifer Lawrence, Kendall Jenner but NO Kim or even her hubby Kanye.
It has been claimed that those stars who chose to ignore the ‘selfie’ rule or sharing photos from inside the event, were deliberately snubbed from Vogue’s pages.
Kim was fully aware of the rules and had reportedly left her mobile phone at home to avid breaking them. It was only when she saw other people doing it that she got involved.
Vogue boss Anna Wintour previously spoke about selfies and while she might not personally be a fan, she thinks that they might be suitable on the odd occasion.
