Shimla, June 22: For proper utilization of rainwater, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed all the government buildings constructed in any part of the state to install/construct and operationalize the rainwater harvesting system within one month.
While passing this direction, the NGT headed by Justice Swatanter Kumar further directed the Town and Country Planning Department that it will not clear any construction plan unless and until the plan provides for installation/construction and operation of rainwater harvesting system, in government, semi-government, autonomous, commercial and private buildings which are more than 5,000 sq ft floor area in the first instance.
