Take a break from the Malls this weekend. If you usually hear your kids playing with their bb handguns in the garden, why not take your kids to the Garden of Five Senses during this summer break instead.
This is no ordinary park. It is a wonderful space connected with mother nature through and through. There are plenty of places to sit like a teak garden bench, if you get tired, but the place is always buzzing with activities that involve the general public, and in the process teach your children a thing or two.
This spectacular garden was conceived by DTDC in order to provide the public with a space to unwind in the lap of nature. The garden is in an area called Said-Ul-Azaib village, which is very close to Mehrauli village.
Since its inauguration in 2003, it has had a steady stream of visitors, who never get their fill in one visit. The landscaping of the garden is such that it manages to invoke all your senses, hence the name. And in a very surprising response, it also sensitizes you to the environment even if it is for a brief period only.
Children of all ages can’t take their eyes off the birds made out of stainless steel and mounted on pillars. There is also a spiral walkway, a troop of elephants made out of stone and a beautiful water bath.
Also check out the fountain tree made out of fibre optic lighting. The exploration will never be complete in one visit, the garden beckons you to come again and again!
