First Date? Which Are The Fourteen ‘Must-Not-Do’ Things!

0

A first date is generally a make or break kinda deal for many. I personally am not the dates kind of person coz I feel that everyday is a new date with the person that you love as every new morning brings something new into the relationship.

For all those who couldn’t understand what I said – Don’t worry it’s a deep thought….you carry on.

Dating in itself is pretty exciting yet nerve wrecking. Girls tend to overdo sometimes – be it make up or laughter! Overdoing these both can lead you to embarrassment.

What are the other don’ts on the first date? Read till you get to know :

1. Don’t be gross

Yeah, so there’s this little mousy in your nose that’s bothering you and you so want to take it out and roll it up between your fingers and throw it away..!! Hold you hand right where it is. Do not pick your nose or do any such thing in front of your date. Its so eeewwwww!!! Just excuse yourself from the table and get a space for yourself in the washroom. Do whatever you want with yourself there. Wash your hands and come back to the table – nice and bright. Tadaaaaah..

2. Drunk? Postpone your date please

Never ever go on a date if you are drunk. You might end up saying or doing things which would leave a very negative impression on your date. Charm your date with your witty humour and not your witless lack of alcohol control.

3. Avoid stinky foods like garlic and onions

So you love garlic bread topped with extra dry garlic powder han? And love eating butter chicken with sirke wala pyaaz…Ohhhh, I love it too. But please avoid foods that affect your breathe. You might end up sitting alone after sometime ‘coz your date would go missing because of your stink.

4. Don’t brag

Never brag about the previous hot guys you have dated and how well you earn, etc. Believe me, he is more interested in knowing you as a person rather than how many accounts you have and how many credit cards are there in your purse. Men love women who are independent, so respect yourself and tell only things which are important and not too much that you expose your financials on the table.

5. Avoid ordering too much

You need to understand that you two are there to talk, have a good time and go back home with sweet memories. Hogging food isn’t the best thing to do on your first date. You have an appetite, then call for something filling but not messy. A dripping cheese burger would be the last thing you’d want to opt for.

6. Never talk about marriage and babies

You cannot know the inside out of a person on the very first date. Hold your horses before you start talking about marriage and babies and all these commitments. You might not even see the person ever again in your life.

7. Don’t talk about your ex

Talking about your exes or past relationships while you are on a date tells your beau you have not moved on. Also, how you talk about your ex-es will give your date an idea as to how you are going to treat him in future.

8. Don’t be late

What’s more valuable than money? Time. Therefore, you should treat someone else’s time with utmost respect. Being late on your first date is blatant disrespect. If you are running late, call and inform them of the situation.

9. Do not flirt with other people

One of the most important things you should remember when you go on a date is that you should give your date all your attention. Don’t insult your date by:
A) Not paying attention and
B) Telling your date someone else deserves your attention. That’s just rude!

10. Don’t complain about the bill

Not complaining about the bill is more about being discreet than being pretentious. Be sure that you have enough money with you when you go on a date so the bill doesn’t catch you by surprise

11. Do not be too shy

Try to get away from your shyness when you go on a date. Remember, if your date has agreed to go out with you, it’s because there is some interest on their part. Be confident and enjoy yourself.

12. Do not talk about sex

This should be an obvious advice but don’t talk about sex on the first date (unless that’s what you are solely looking for). If you are looking for a long-lasting relationship, you have to start building it on a solid foundation and sex is not that foundation.

13. Don’t look too made-up

If you apply too much make-up you might end up looking horrible. Sometimes going the natural and subtle way is the thing to do. Go neutral and easy on yourself.

14. If you are separated, divorced or have kids – please mention well in advance

If you need a stable and long-lasting relationship, then be very clear on the fact that there is a past attached to you. Don’t get into cribbing and detailing, but do mention the realities instead of giving shockers later on.
