Shimla, Oct 7: Former Chief Minister PK Dhumal said Himachal had slid back by 10 years in the last five years of Congress “misrule”.In a statement issued here today, Dhumal said the state, which was ranked at the top position in many sectors, was today in news for the poor law and order situation and rising crime against women.
“HP ranks at the 17th position with regard to industrial development and when it comes to women safety and crime against them, the state has earned a bad name after the Kotkhai rape and murder case,” he said.
Dhumal claimed that the Congress regime had failed to fulfil the promises it made to the people. “I can say that even now only 30 per cent of the promises contained in the election manifesto have been fulfilled as rest are yet to be achieved,” he remarked.
He said there was not even a single section of society, including women, employees, youth and farmers, who were not feeling cheated and let down.He claimed that in the last five years, there had been only mafia raj with a full-fledged transfer industry prospering. He alleged that mining, land, liquor and drug had flourished under the full protection of the state government. “The Congress has let down the educated youth who have no jobs, considering the grim unemployment scenario,” he added.
