1. The Kaziranga National Park
The most important park of Assam is The Kaziranga National Park. You can see some rare birds and animals here. Only at Kaziranga will you get a chance to see the one-horned Rhinoceros. It has been an official tiger reserve from 2006. The best time to visit is from November to March.
2. The Manas National Park and Sanctuary
How many states can boast of having two tiger reserves? Assam is one of them. The park was declared a World Heritage Site in 1985. Only here can you see a golden langur and a hispid hare.
3. Kamakhya Mata Temple
This is a world famous Shakti shrine and a major pilgrimage centre for Hindus. They say that if you come to Assam you must not leave without seeking her blessings.
4. The Navagraha Temple
As the name suggests, the temple is a major seat for astronomical studies. Like other temples in Assam, the architecture of this one is also very impressive.
5. The Madan Kamdev Temple
The stone carvings on this temple are sure to impress one and all. An old temple which still stands tall in all its glory.
